We honour the Canadian Armed Forces members who dedicated their lives to protecting and serving this country. Every loss is a life taken from a mom, a dad, a sister, a brother, and a community. Honouring their sacrifice is important, making sure their service is never forgotten. Since 1914, approximately 2,000 Canadian Armed Forces members lost their lives on Canadian soil while serving their country in non-combat roles.
I introduced Bill C-252, An Act respecting a national day of remembrance to honor Canadian Armed Forces members who have lost their lives in peacetime in Canada, to establish October 22nd as a national day of remembrance. To lower the Canadian flag on the Peace Tower to half-mast. To honor and to reflect on the cost of service during peacetime.
Honour the service and sacrifice of Armed Forces members who lost their lives in peacetime.
