Motion M-33: Wildland and forest firefighters

Wildland and forest firefighters are on the front lines, fighting against longer, hotter, and more destructive wildfire seasons. However, under the National Occupation Classification, these heroes are not officially designated as “firefighters,” meaning they are ineligible for crucial health screenings and benefits.

That’s why I introduced Motion M-33. This motion calls on the federal government to correct this mistake, and recognize wildland firefighters as the firefighters and public safety workers that they are.
